Low-Level Image Operator Performance Optimization
Overview
This project re-engineered compute-intensive image operators from a hardware perspective, focusing on how memory layout and instruction-level parallelism influence performance.
My contributions
- Optimized memory alignment and data access for cache locality.
- Used SIMD instruction sets to accelerate compute-intensive image operations.
- Achieved a 40×+ speedup over the project’s baseline implementation.
Areas & tools
- C / C++
- SIMD
- Cache locality
